| dc.description.abstract | Brazil has an industry of biofuels, ethanol in particular, that has been very well developed since the creation of Proálcool, the growth of its strategic relevance being associated with, among other factors, the risk of a general energy blackout in the next decade, as well as with the commitments of the Paris Agreement until 2030. Throughout this article, several factors that can influence the growth of this market will be presented. To unlock the industry, regulatory, tax and financial aspects should be considered. To optimize it, the RenovaBio Program, agricultural productivity (protected varieties), genetic improvement, second-generation ethanol and new fuels (such as biogas) stand out. Furthermore, a transformation in the sector would be subject to factors that are currently distant from generating a significant impact, like the Biofuturo Platform, electrification of vehicles with biofuels and biorefineries. | en_US |

| dc.description.resumo | O Brasil possui um setor de biocombustíveis, particularmente em relação ao etanol, que se desenvolveu bastante desde o Proálcool, cuja relevância estratégica vem crescendo, entre outros fatores, pelo risco de um apagão energético na próxima década, bem como pelos compromissos do Acordo de Paris até 2030. Ao longo do presente artigo, são apresentados diversos fatores que podem influenciar o crescimento desse mercado. Para destravar o setor, mostram-se aspectos regulatórios, tributários e financeiros. Para potencializá-lo, destaca-se o Programa RenovaBio, a produtividade agrícola (variedades protegidas), o melhoramento genético, o etanol de segunda geração e novos combustíveis (como o biogás). Por fim, uma transformação no setor estaria condicionada a fatores que atualmente estão mais distantes de gerar um grande impacto, como a Plataforma do Biofuturo, eletrificação veicular com biocombustíveis e biorrefinarias. | en_US |
